Industrial Knowledge of HOWO Concrete Mixing Tank

1. Product Positioning

The HOWO concrete mixing tank is the core upper component of the SINOTRUK HOWO concrete mixer truck, professionally manufactured by Zhongxu Factory. It is specially used for the transportation and mixing of ready-mixed concrete, and is widely applied in infrastructure projects such as residential buildings, highways, bridges and water conservancy projects.

The product features high strength, wear resistance, lightweight design and smooth discharging. Common volumes include 6m³, 8m³, 10m³ and 12m³. It meets load compliance requirements and is suitable for complex construction site road conditions and high-intensity operations.

2. Structure and Materials

2.1 Tank Structure

It adopts an olive-shaped (pear-shaped) design with an inclination angle of 18°-20°, facilitating feeding and discharging and preventing concrete segregation and accumulation. The complete assembly includes a tank body, feeding hopper, discharge chute, climbing ladder, support base and other parts, with a stable structure.

2.2 Core Materials

The main tank body is made of high-strength wear-resistant manganese steel, with a cylinder thickness of 5mm and a head thickness of 8mm, featuring excellent wear and impact resistance. The support base and subframe are made of high-strength steel plates, with strong load-bearing capacity and resistance to cracking and deformation.

2.3 Internal Blades

It is equipped with built-in double-helix curved blades with optimized radian, ensuring uniform mixing and fast discharging. The blades are fitted with wear strips and equipped with pressure relief holes to reduce resistance, prolong service life and achieve an extremely low residual rate inside the tank.

3. Working Principle

The mixing tank has no independent power source, and is driven to rotate by the hydraulic system (oil pump, motor, reducer) powered by the truck chassis engine, with a conventional rotating speed of 6-8 revolutions per minute.

Feeding and Mixing: The tank rotates forward to stir the concrete and prevent solidification and stratification.

Discharging: The tank rotates reversely, and the blades push the concrete out. The chute can be flexibly adjusted in angle.

Cleaning: Rotate the empty tank forward and reversely, and rinse the residual concrete inside with clean water.

4. Core Advantages

Compliant Lightweight Design: Light dead weight, no overloading, capable of transporting more materials and improving profits.

Excellent Mixing Quality: No segregation or agglomeration of concrete, uniform discharging and less residual materials.

Durable and Sturdy: Firm welding seams, wear-resistant materials, adaptable to muddy and bumpy road conditions, and long service life.

Safe Operation: Multi-position control system, equipped with anti-slip climbing ladder and protective railings for safe operation.

Convenient Maintenance: Equipped with high-brand hydraulic parts, low failure rate, extensive national after-sales outlets and universal accessories.

5. Daily Maintenance

5.1 Daily Maintenance

Rinse the tank body, blades and chute with clean water immediately after discharging to prevent concrete from agglomerating and hardening. Check for oil leakage in the hydraulic system and abnormal noise during operation.

5.2 Regular Maintenance

Replace hydraulic oil and filter elements on schedule, clean impurities in the oil tank; apply lubricating grease to the reducer and bearings; fasten support base bolts, and repair worn blades and welding seams.

5.3 Long-term Storage

Thoroughly clean the tank, air dry and apply anti-rust treatment; drain residual water in the water pipeline and close hydraulic valves; idle the tank regularly for inspection.

6. Common Fault Troubleshooting

Tank fails to rotate / weak rotation: Insufficient hydraulic oil, damaged oil pump or motor, blocked oil circuit. Shut down for maintenance.

Slow discharging, excessive residuals: Agglomerated concrete inside the tank, worn blades. Clean agglomerates and replace blades.

Abnormal noise and severe vibration: Loose bolts, damaged bearings, solid lumps inside the tank. Shut down for inspection and repair.

Hydraulic oil leakage: Aging seals, damaged oil pipes. Replace accessories and fasten joints.

7. Selection Suggestions

Small projects and rural roads: Choose 6-8m³ small tanks for flexible maneuvering.

Municipal buildings and conventional infrastructure: Choose 10-12m³ tanks, with high cost performance and strong universality.

Large bridges and highway projects: Choose heavy-duty thickened tanks, which are wear-resistant and durable, suitable for long-distance transportation.

Prioritize matching with the original HOWO chassis for higher power matching and more stable vehicle performance.
