Tips for Safe Driving and Operating a Dump Semi-Trailer

Dump semi-trailers have a high center of gravity and lifting risks during transportation and unloading. Standard operation is essential to ensure safety and service life. Here are the professional guidelines:

1.Smooth Starting and Driving
Start in low gear with gentle acceleration. Maintain a safe speed, anticipate road conditions, and avoid sudden braking or sharp turns.

2.Follow Loading Rules Strictly
Distribute cargo evenly. Do not overload or load unevenly, as unbalanced weight may cause rollovers during travel or lifting.

3.Safe downhill driving
Use a low gear and engine braking on downhill sections. Do not coast in neutral, which may cause brake failure.

4.Pay attention to inner wheel difference when turning or reversing
The dump semi-trailer has a long body and large blind spots. Leave enough space when turning or reversing to avoid collisions or rollover.

5.Stop completely before unloading
Unload only on flat, solid, level ground. Apply the parking brake and use wheel chocks to prevent sliding or tilting.

6.Operate the lifting system correctly
Engage the PTO before lifting, and raise the box slowly and evenly. Monitor the body during lifting and stop immediately if anything is abnormal.

7.Do NOT drive with the box raised
After unloading, lower the body completely and disengage the PTO before driving. Failure to do so may damage the hydraulic system and cab.

8.Inspect the vehicle regularly
Before each trip, check brakes, tires, hydraulics, pipelines, and locking mechanisms to ensure no leaks or loose parts.
